I'm hogging Gobula's comments

I hijacked his post, so I figure I'll provide my own forum for my entertainment.

How goes the gameplay, people? Gobula's playing this, and Tiger and I are at different stages of this (just about the first ten minutes is the introduction, the next seven is early gameplay and exposition). Anybody else in the middle of something?

...and by this I mean this.

Wow, still doesn't work right.

You know what, just open the link in a new window.

Holy crap! That's unbe-freakin'-lievable!

Bastard.

Lummox has just spent the last hour or so trying to get the final skill point in Ratchet and Clank. He needs a time of under 1:35 in a race. 1:35:02 hurt like bamboo splinters under your fingernails.

Personally, I'm on my way out of Solaris. How far have you played in Xenogears, before? I don't want to spoil this magnificently twisted plot.

As I said, I had a save in Deus' chamber, and I had a memory card failure.

It's been a few years since I last played. I don't remember how much was explained post-Deus. I think you understand as much of the plot as you're going to understand at that point, barring a very nifty bit with Krelian in the ending movie.

This time through I'm just enjoying the foreshadowing, random hints of the past, and the completely-obvious-in-retrospect identity of Id thing. I know I had it figured out before the reveal the first time, but now I wonder how I could have missed it as long as I did.

Guh. I'd convinced myself that I'd exaggerated about disc two. I hadn't. I think I watched about an hour of plot with about two minutes of gameplay this morning.

Last night I went to Zeboim, smacked Id around like a Red-headed step-child, and just finished Babel, smacking Siebzehn around even more.

"smacked Id around like a Red-headed step-child"

How very appropriate. :D

I just wrapped up the second anima dungeon. I had to do it a few times, unfortunately. The first time I ran out of time before I could save again, the second time the guy self-destructed before I could kill him, and I finally got him the third time. Now I can hunt slug-monsters for speed shoes! It didn't help my time that I finally got around to teaching Rico and Emeralda their deathblows, but at least that's over with now. Go, go gadget wizardry rings (and deathblow learning guide)!

I saw a line on a board that I just must save here for posterity:

If Fei wants to be a whiny little emo nub, then by golly, his infinite phenomenon altering abilities will make him the meanest, leanest, whiny little emo nub the universe has ever seen.
